Did you watch the gameplay trailer? Jokes and I sat through it. Looks quite interesting. I was never one to play diablo, but who knows what the future holds.

Yeah Diablo has always been kind of the root that established VK lore. While VK was founded in Ultima Online, its foundation was born in the original Diablo. That's where the character of Lír was established (as the 'Hero' who slayed Diablo and ultimately became 'The Wanderer'; and the orginal mythos of the world of Covenant (Knightshade's and Lír's homeworld - a world similar to Diablo's world of Sanctuary).
Anyways, the game is definitely not a mmog and the guild wouldn't be active in D3 like it would in an mmog, but it sure would be great to adventure with everyone again in the world which established the basis for all we've become.
